The 2018 UCP Golf Scramble was a huge success!
A true “golfer’s event”, this is one golf fundraiser that is small enough for golfers to really concentrate and big enough to raise critical funds for ConnectAbility of MN This year’s tournament took place on June 4, and was a quiet, relaxed, and competitive day.
We awarded many prize baskets to our golfers, six-course awards, and even $1,000 prize to the first place golfer while raising thousands for ConnectAbility of MN’s Mobile Center.
The EMPOWER Center is an Assistive Technology Mobile Experience Center—a traveling resource that will provide assistive technology demonstrations and education for those with disabilities. This travel trailer is an opportunity for those we work with to experience real-life, real-time solutions with case managers and healthcare professionals. The mobile center is another way that demonstrates our passion for equal rights for all, especially those who are meeting the challenges of living with a disability in Stearns, Benton, and Sherburne counties and, more recently, throughout the state of Minnesota.
In addition to the annual golfing event, ConnectAbility of MN hosts other fundraising events throughout the year that make our mission possible, as well as community events that bring services and special experiences to our clients. The next event is our Dance to Connect Camp on Fridays in July – a chance for those ages 12-18 (and their parents) to experience dance or movement therapy with a Registered Behavioral Technician and an Autism Movement Specialist.
